Ashford
The first city, where the evacuation failed: cracked asphalt full of potholes, rubble, burnt-out cars, fallen lamp posts, jersey barriers, cones and sandbags. On the old town hall square: a dry fountain, an army evacuation point and a crater with a burnt car.

Landmarks
Every Ashford has all of these.

Abandoned Building
A gutted apartment block: floors of empty flats, broken walls, a water tank on the roof.

Supermarket
Smashed checkouts, emptied aisles and a car park full of wrecks.

Police Station
The last stand of the town: cells, offices and patrol cars in the yard.
Mini structures
A town gets a share of these along its streets, each one at most once.

Corner Store
A brick corner shop with its awning, shelves picked almost clean.

Gas Station
Pumps under the canopy and a small shop.

Crashed Bus
A city bus across the road, its passengers long gone.

Military Checkpoint
Sandbags, a watchtower, tents and crates of the failed evacuation.

Field Hospital
Army medical tents with cots and supplies left behind.
Life in town
Zombies come out on their own, more at night. Inside a town up to 10 roam around you by day and 18 at night (4 and 10 in the wild). Town zombies like Riot Cops, Firefighters and Mailmen are twice as common there, and the elite Tanks only walk the streets of a town at night.
Loot chests, searchable trash cans, boxes and bags (they restock after 5 minutes) and furniture in every house.
Zombies climb out of the manholes in the streets while you are around, and a manhole cannot be broken. Right click one with duct tape to seal it for good.
In the ruins of the other towns, a few survivors hide. The zombies leave them alone. Find them: a few words and 1 scrap, once a day.
The tall buildings have elevator pads: jump to go up, sneak to go down, right click for the list of floors. Zombies cannot use them.
