Allies
Allies are survivors who follow you, fight the zombies and pick things up for you. Hire one from a Camp Guard. Give them orders: follow you, hold a spot or guard an area.
How allies work
The Camp Guard trader sells one: Hire Help, 20 scrap. Your ally follows you and fights.
Right click your ally: health, what they are doing, their orders, their bag, the items you can heal them with, and Part ways.
Follow me: they walk with you and fight. Stay here: they hold the spot where they stand and hit what comes close. Guard this area: they patrol about 10 blocks around that spot and fight. A marker shows the post when they walk back to it. Blow the Whistle: every ally leaves their post and follows you again.
Every zombie your ally kills has a 40% chance to leave them something (never scrap). The bag holds 3 things; buy them from the menu for scrap.
An ally at 0 health is down, not dead. Sneak within 3 blocks of them for 3 seconds to revive them. Nobody comes within 45 seconds? They retreat and leave.
Your hits hurt your allies too: aim before you swing in a crowd.
Ends the alliance: they stay where they are as a free survivor (same name, look and bag). Right click them and choose Recruit to get them back.
Hold a Whistle: the action bar becomes a compass pointing to your nearest ally. A Walkie-Talkie calls your allies to you.
Healing an ally
Open their menu while you carry one of these: a button heals them with it.
